The Ambassador of Ukraine to Canada, Yuliya Kovaliv, together with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Canada, Ines Coppoolse, hosted the latest meeting of the Ottawa Group of Friends of Ukraine at the Embassy of Ukraine in Canada.

The focus of this meeting was Russia's war crimes against Ukrainian children.

Special guests included Ukraine's Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin, former Canadian Minister of Justice and Attorney General Irwin Cotler, and Payam Akhavan, Special Adviser on Genocide to the International Criminal Court.

Discussions centered on the challenges associated with Russia's war crimes against Ukrainian children, the urgent need to establish an international mechanism to halt the criminal policy of abducting Ukrainian children and ensure their safe return, the confiscation of Russian assets, and the necessity of investigating the crime of genocide.

A special thanks to Azad Safarov and Voices of Children for the opportunity to organize and present a thematic poster exhibition, "War Through the Voices of Children," as part of the meeting. The exhibition showcases illustrated quotes from young Ukrainian children sharing their impressions of the war. Ukrainian children have their own reflections and emotions about what is happening, and it is vital to listen to them.
