On June 17, 2025, a brutal Russian missile attack struck the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, claiming the lives of innocent civilians and causing widespread destruction.

In solidarity with the people of Ukraine and in mourning for the victims, the Embassy of Ukraine in Canada has lowered the National Flag in Ottawa and opened a Book of Condolence.

As of 2:00 PM Kyiv time, 28 people have been confirmed dead. Search and rescue efforts are ongoing as emergency services continue to respond to the aftermath of this heinous attack.
