We continue to celebrate the Day of Unity of Ukraine.
Nothing unites Ukrainians abroad like love for Ukraine, shared values, family traditions, and cherished symbols like the embroidered shirt – the vyshyvanka.
Today, on Ukraine’s Unity Day, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Canada, Yuliya Kovaliv, along with the Consuls General of Ukraine in Toronto, Oleksandr Shevchenko, and in Edmonton, Oleksandr Danyleiko, presented the first vyshyvankas to Ukrainian children born in Canada and officially registered as citizens of Ukraine.
May these embroidered shirts protect you, dear little Ukrainians, endow you with the strength of your homeland, and become a talisman for your bright and happy future.
Our heartfelt thanks to the Vyshyvanka Association, MEEST Canada, and UCC National - Ukrainian Canadian Congress for their partnership and support in bringing this initiative to life in Canada.
