On January 22, Ukraine marks the Day of Unity, commemorating the 1919 proclamation of the Act of Unification of the Ukrainian People's Republic and the Western Ukrainian People's Republic.
It is the day when we united into one state, not only geographically but also spiritually – as a single, cohesive nation.
The idea of unity has been, remains, and will always be a fundamental national value for Ukrainians, as our unity is our strength. This is especially true today, as Ukraine defends its independence from Russian aggression.
Let us stand united – for in our unity lies our power. Happy Day of Unity of Ukraine!
