On the first day of their work in the Canadian capital, the delegation held the following meetings:
✅ With the Speaker of the Canadian Parliament, Greg Fergus, discussions focused on the role of the Canadian Parliament in urgently strengthening military support for Ukraine. Topics included Canada’s co-leadership in the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children and the necessity of holding Russia’s political and military leadership accountable for war crimes committed in Ukraine.
✅ With Canada’s Minister of Defence, Bill Blair, the delegation emphasized the urgent need to enhance military assistance to Ukraine, particularly through the provision of air defense systems. Discussions also addressed Canada’s participation in the drone and aviation coalitions, as well as expanding the training of Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighter jets.
The visit to Canada is organized in partnership with the Parliamentary Centre and the Agency for Legislative Initiatives (ALI) under the Canadian project PASS Ukraine ("Parliamentary Accountability for Security Sector in Ukraine"), implemented by Global Affairs Canada.
