This weekend, the 16th annual Canada Army Run 2023 is taking place in Ottawa. Traditionally, the run attracts up to 30,000 participants.

Canada Army Run is not only an opportunity for Canadians to show their support for soldiers who have served or are still serving both at home and abroad, but also a chance to learn more about the modern military.

Additionally, Canada Army Run serves as a fundraising opportunity for Support Our Troops and Soldier On – the official charity of the Canadian Armed Forces, which provides support to ill and injured service members, veterans, and their families.

This year, Ukraine is represented in the race by Lieutenant Colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valentyn Derelo, who completed the half-marathon.

The participation of the Ukrainian service member in Canada Army Run was made possible through cooperation with The Invictus Games Foundation.
