"On February 27, during the battles in Hostomel, our plane 'Mriya' was burned. Can we say that Russia destroyed our dream? No. It burned the plane. It burned the metal, destroyed the matter, but not the soul, not freedom, not dignity, not independence," said President Volodymyr Zelenskyy last year in his address to the Parliament of Australia.
Today, a piece of the Ukrainian dream, soul, and our aspiration for freedom has found its place within the walls of ICAO — the International Civil Aviation Organization.
Together with ICAO Secretary General Juan Carlos Salazar, ICAO Council President Salvatore Sciacchitano, and representatives of the ICAO Council member states, we officially unveiled the stand featuring the AN-225 Mriya aircraft at the organization's headquarters in Montreal.
We will rebuild our 'Mriya,' and the international community is ready to help us achieve this goal.
