Today in Ottawa, with the support of the Embassy of Ukraine in Canada, Invest Ottawa, Wesley Clover, and the Kanata North Business Association, a roundtable titled "UKRAINE: Tech Innovation in Challenging Times" took place.

The event, designed for IT company executives, highlighted Ukraine’s advanced technological landscape. As a leader in digital technology, Ukraine is at the forefront of digital transformation, offering world-class IT products and services in fields such as fintech, govtech, healthtech, cybertech, miltech, and more.

This meeting provided a timely opportunity for Canadian companies to explore Ukraine’s dynamic tech ecosystem.

During the roundtable, Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation, Alex Bornyakov, presented collaboration opportunities and shared successful examples of partnerships with international companies.

Ukraine's Ambassador to Canada, Yuliya Kovaliv, emphasized that the Ukrainian IT sector has become a cornerstone in rebuilding Ukraine, actively contributing to economic growth and providing jobs for over 350,000 highly skilled IT professionals. Today, the Ukrainian IT sector accounts for more than 4% of Ukraine’s GDP.

The Ambassador also highlighted that Ukraine is one of the largest exporters of IT services in Europe. Even during the war in 2023, IT service exports reached USD 6.7 billion (13.2% of total exports).
