Two days of active discussions and meetings in Toronto have concluded with the Rebuild Ukraine Business Conference, which brought together over 400 leaders from the public and private sectors of Ukraine and Canada to discuss the reconstruction of Ukraine.
Among the key speakers were Ukraine’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Yuliya Svyrydenko, Deputy Minister of Communities, Territories, and Infrastructure Development Anatolii Komirnyy, Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation Oleksandr Bornyakov, Lviv Mayor Andrii Sadovyy, Canada’s Minister of Export Promotion, International Trade and Economic Development Mary Ng, Chair of the Canada-Ukraine Parliamentary Friendship Group MP Yvan Baker, Canada’s Ambassador to Ukraine Natalka Cmoc, President of the Canada-Ukraine Chamber of Commerce Zenon Potichny, and many others.
Discussions focused on Ukraine’s wartime economy and reconstruction plans, the modernized Free Trade Agreement between Ukraine and Canada and the opportunities it opens for businesses, financing tools for Ukraine’s recovery, as well as projects in agriculture, energy, infrastructure, and healthcare.
Ambassador Yuliya Kovaliv highlighted the crucial role of the IT sector in Ukraine's recovery as a driver of the country’s economic development. She called for the active establishment of new partnerships that would benefit both Ukraine’s reconstruction efforts and Canadian companies.
Canada’s support for Ukraine remains unwavering. The key message and action plan from the conference emphasized: the best way to help Ukraine is to invest in Ukraine.
