As part of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy's visit to Canada to participate in the G7 Summit, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiha met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada Anita Anand.
During the meeting, Andriy Sybiha thanked the Canadian side for inviting the Ukrainian delegation to the G7 Summit and emphasized the importance of further strengthening sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation. In particular, he highlighted the critical need to lower the price cap on Russian oil as an effective tool to limit the resources that Russia uses to wage its war against Ukraine.
Special attention was paid to the activities of the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children. The Minister expressed gratitude to Canada for its leadership in this initiative and discussed further steps in coordination.
The meeting also focused on bilateral cooperation, continued security and humanitarian assistance from Canada, and support for international efforts to achieve a just peace for Ukraine.
Minister Andriy Sybiha expressed gratitude to Canada for its hospitality and unwavering support for Ukraine in its fight for sovereignty, freedom, and security.
