Today, over 60 ambassadors accredited in Ottawa gathered at the Embassy of Japan in Canada for the traditional meeting of the Friends of Ukraine Group.

The main topic of discussion was nuclear safety and the first point of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy's Peace Formula, "Radiation and Nuclear Safety."

Canada actively supports the implementation of one of the most critical points of the Peace Formula.

"Any use of nuclear energy, facilities, devices, and installations must be safe, properly regulated, controlled, and environmentally sound. The war against Ukraine has placed global radiation and nuclear safety at significant risk."

Ambassador of Japan to Canada, Kanji Yamanouchi: "Today's event is a powerful demonstration of solidarity with Ukraine. This is not just about protecting Ukraine. It is about the dignity and integrity of humanity as a whole, including the maintenance of the international order based on the rule of law."

Ambassador Yuliya Kovaliv: "There are no and can be no justifications for Russia's nuclear blackmail. Ukrainian nuclear power plants and installations must operate safely under Ukraine's full sovereign control."
