Today, February 18, 2025, marks three years since Russia began one of its most horrific crimes against Ukraine – the mass deportation of Ukrainian children. 

By the morning of February 19, more than 2,700 children, mostly children from orphanages and boarding schools, had been deported to Russia. 

Russia is trying to disguise this crime as evacuation because of the danger. But the truth is that the danger to our children was created and continues to be created by it. 

Deportation is not an evacuation. It is a war crime and a crime against humanity for which Russia must be punished. 

Over the past three years, 1,221 children have been rescued and returned home. 

But tens of thousands remain in Russian captivity. 

We will not stop until every Ukrainian child abducted by Russia is brought back home. 

No exceptions. No conditions.
