We were honored to welcome today at the Embassy of Ukraine in Canada the delegation of the Permanent Synod of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC), led by His Beatitude Sviatoslav.

The discussion focused on key issues that are of great importance for both Ukrainians in Canada and Ukraine as a whole:

• Support for the Ukrainian community in Canada – We discussed further cooperation to preserve national identity, promote cultural initiatives, and strengthen the spiritual life of Ukrainians.

• The role of the Church in uniting the Ukrainian people – The conversation highlighted the Church’s vital mission as a spiritual and moral guide for Ukrainians during Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.

• Challenges Ukraine faces due to aggression – The discussion touched on assistance for displaced persons, support for Ukraine’s defenders, and the importance of international solidarity.

We sincerely appreciate this meaningful and heartfelt conversation. Shared faith, unity, and support are what help us endure and bring closer a comprehensive and just peace for Ukraine.
