Today in Ottawa, CANSEC - Canada’s largest defence industry exhibition - officially opened. This event brings together weapons manufacturers, engineers, military personnel, government officials, startups, investors, and analysts to showcase cutting-edge technologies, build partnerships, and discuss the future of security.
Each year, CANSEC gathers over 10,000 participants from around the world - from global defence giants to innovative startups.
This year, the Ukrainian delegation includes both public sector representatives and private companies that are already producing drones, electronics, armoured vehicles, electronic warfare systems, logistics solutions, and more - technologies that prove their effectiveness daily on the front lines.
Ukraine’s Ambassador to Canada, Yuliya Kovaliv, delivered remarks at the exhibition’s opening, thanking Canada for its steadfast support and calling for deeper partnerships in the defence sector:
“Ukraine today is not only a country at war. It is a country shaping the future of defence in Europe and NATO. And we invite partners to join us.”
In her address, the Ambassador emphasized that Ukraine’s defence industry is currently one of the most dynamic in the world. In the face of full-scale Russian aggression, it is rapidly adapting, evolving, and creating battlefield-tested technologies that are setting new global standards.
Ambassador Kovaliv called on Canadian partners not to delay - now is the time to join forces, invest, and create joint production and technological solutions. Because Ukraine’s victory is a shared cause of the democratic world.
