As part of her working visit to Montreal, Ambassador of Ukraine to Canada and Permanent Representative of Ukraine to ICAO Yuliya Kovaliv held a number of important meetings focused on international aviation cooperation and engagement with the Ukrainian community in Quebec.
During her meeting with Delphine Naudet Michaud, EU Representative to ICAO, and delegations of EU Member States on the ICAO Council, the parties discussed coordination of joint efforts to advance safe, sustainable, and innovative civil aviation, as well as preparations for the upcoming ICAO Assembly, which will take place in fall 2025 at ICAO Headquarters in Montreal.
Ukraine highly values the close cooperation with its European partners within ICAO and other international aviation bodies, especially in light of the current global security challenges caused by Russia’s war of aggression.
Ambassador Kovaliv also held a separate meeting with Eugene Czolij, Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Montreal, to discuss the expansion of regional partnerships between Ukrainian and Canadian cities, and to address key issues faced by Ukrainian citizens residing in the province of Quebec and the city of Montreal.
The Ambassador expressed her sincere gratitude to Mr. Czolij for his steadfast advocacy for Ukraine and for his ongoing contribution to strengthening the Ukrainian community in Quebec.
