The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses its deep concern at the attempts of illegal armed groups on the territory of certain areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine to complicate the work of the UN agencies and to block the delivery of humanitarian supplies to those in need of them.
These irresponsible actions are unacceptable given the autumn and winter period approaching and the increased humanitarian needs of the civilian population. They are contrary to internationally recognized humanitarian principles and are in violation ofinternational humanitarian law, as well as of Minsk agreements that envisage secure access, delivery, storage and distribution of humanitarian assistance to those in need.
We emphasize that the international humanitarian organizations that provide humanitarian assistance to Ukraine are duly accredited by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in accordance with national law and do not require any additional "registration".
Ukraine reaffirms its commitment to, and the crucial importance of, cooperation with international humanitarian organizations and intends to further strongly promote the smooth delivery of humanitarian assistance to the civilian population living in the occupied territories of Donbass.
