The counterparts exchanged their visions on the results of the last G8 Summit, including concerning security and humanitarian situation in Middle East and Afghanistan. In particular, referring to the death of more than 93, 000 Syrians, Mr. Alexander advocated for the further pressure of the international community on the Syrian authorities and the importance of increasing humanitarian assistance to the Syrian people.
Having shared the concerns of Mr.Alexander on the continued bloodshed in Syria, Ambassador Prystaiko stressed on the necessity to have a balanced approach toward solution of the Syrian problem which would be in line with the will of the Syrian people and would allow put an end to the civil war, save lives of Syrians and foreigners in Syria, including Ukrainians.
