Ambassador of Ukraine to Canada Vadym Prystaiko met with a member of the House of Commons Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development, Conservative MP, Dave Van Kesteren.

They discussed Ukrainian and Canadian foreign policy as well as state and perspectives of the bilateral relations. A particular attention was paid at economic and resource potential of Ukraine and Canada.
Mr.Van Kesteren emphasized that Canada is “the best free market in the world”, having noted the importance of the private ownership. In this regard Ambassador Prystaiko spoke about the willingness and readiness to strengthen a business component of Ukraine-Canada relations. He expressed hopes for an increase of Canadian investments in the Ukrainian economy which now stand at less than 1%.
They also discussed such outstanding issues as energy security, land market in Ukraine, democratic development etc.
In May 2012 Mr. Van Kesteren visited Ukraine as part of the delegation of the House of Commons Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development.
