For the third consecutive year, the #RebuildUkraine Conference brings together representatives of the governments, businesses, and civil society of Ukraine and Canada. This significant event is dedicated to discussing the future reconstruction of Ukraine, strengthening support, and developing promising economic projects between our two countries.
The conference is traditionally organized by the Canada-Ukraine Chamber of Commerce.
This year's conference began with a speech by the Vice Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine and Minister for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, Oleksiy Kuleba, who emphasized the importance of joint efforts for rebuilding Ukraine.
In her address, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Canada, Yuliya Kovaliv, highlighted the record-breaking trade turnover between Ukraine and Canada. In 2023, the trade volume between our countries reached its highest level in the past five years. For the first nine months of 2024, there has already been a further 10% increase. The Ambassador also stressed the importance of the updated Canada-Ukraine Free Trade Agreement (CUFTA), which came into effect on July 1, 2024. This agreement opens new opportunities for Ukrainian exporters, helping them enter new markets and further strengthening economic ties between our countries.
We are grateful to the organizers for the high level of organization and to the Ukrainian delegation for their active efforts in strengthening partnerships and developing mutually beneficial economic projects with Canada.
Together, we are building Ukraine's future!
