The Embassy of Ukraine in Canada, together with the Canada-Ukraine Parliamentary Friendship Group and the Ukrainian Canadian Congress, held an event in the Parliament of Canada to mark the tenth anniversary of Ukraine's resilience against Russian aggression and the second anniversary of Ukraine's resistance to Russia's full-scale invasion.
The event was attended by Canadian government officials, MPs and Senators, as well as Ambassadors and representatives of more than 50 diplomatic missions in Ottawa, including those from the Global South.
A minute of silence was observed to honor the memory of Ukraine's fallen heroes in the war against the Russian aggressor.
Speeches were delivered by Ambassador of Ukraine to Canada Yulia Kovaliv, Liberal MP Ivan Baker, Chair of the Canada-Ukraine Parliamentary Friendship Group, Lila Goodridge, Member of Parliament for the Conservative Party, Martin Champoux, Member of Parliament for the Bloc Québécois, Heather Macpherson, Member of Parliament for the New Democratic Party, and Ihor Mykhalchyshyn, Executive Director of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress.
Representatives of all political parties in the Parliament of Canada unanimously reaffirmed Canada's unwavering support for Ukraine as an investment in collective security, the restoration of a world order based on international law, and the need to hold Putin and his criminal regime accountable for the crime of aggression.
The event also featured an exhibition of photographs by Serhiy Mykhalchuk, Vlada and Kostyantyn Liberov as part of the "Culture vs War" project.
