September is Ukrainian Heritage Month in Canada, with September 7 marked as Ukrainian Heritage Day.

On this day in 1891, Ivan Pylypiv and Vasyl Eleniak arrived in Canada as the first officially documented Ukrainian immigrants. Their journey began the story of a vibrant Ukrainian community that has grown over generations and continues to enrich Canada in countless ways.

At the same time, Ukrainians have preserved our language, traditions, and identity - passing them proudly from one generation to the next.

Today, we honour this shared history and extend warm greetings to everyone marking Ukrainian Heritage Month!
