Ambassador Andrii Plakhotniuk met with the Honourable Randeep Sarai, Canada’s Secretary of State (International Development), to discuss Canada’s continued support for Ukraine.

I was pleased to meet yesterday with the Honourable Randeep Sarai, Canada’s Secretary of State (International Development).

I expressed our sincere gratitude to Canada and personally to the Honourable Secretary of State for the continued support provided to Ukraine and the Ukrainian people. 

The Canadian assistance enables the implementation of essential development and humanitarian projects and contributes to rebuilding the Ukrainian communities affected by the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine. 

During the meeting, we discussed the current challenges Ukraine is facing amid Russia’s ongoing aggression and focused on priority areas of cooperation. I particularly emphasized the urgent need for continued support to Ukraine’s energy sector, which remains among the main targets of Russia’s daily attacks.

Ukraine highly values Canada’s steadfast partnership and the practical assistance that directly improves lives and supports our nation’s recovery and future development.
