Ukrainian Day on Parliament Hill
30 May 2016 23:52

The event was held by Canada-Ukraine Parliamentary Program interns to mark the 25th Anniversary of the program in 2016.

Interns of the Canada-Ukraine Parliamentary Program organized inter-faith prayer for peace in Ukraine and throughout the world on Parliament Hill near Eternal Flame.

The official part of the event was held in the Parliament of Canada, with the participation of MPs, Ukrainian interns, representatives of the Embassy, Ukrainian Canadian community and the press.

The attendees of the event had an opportunity to get acquainted with the information exhibition «Warrior. Freedom Through Ages» and to sign a postcards for Ukrainian warriors at the ATO zone.

CUPP was established in 1991 as an internship program with Members of Canada’s House of Commons to give Ukraine’s future leaders an opportunity to experience the operation of a parliamentary democracy.

Over the past 25 years, more than 800 young Ukrainians went through a life-changing experience at the House of Commons.
