Chair of Ukrainian Studies at the University of Ottawa, with the support of the Embassy of Ukraine in Canada hosted a meeting with a famous reporter, photographer, author of the bestseller "Airport" Sergiy Loiko.

Opening the event, Ambassador of Ukraine to Canada Andriy Shevchenko highlighted the importance of a true coverage of the events in eastern Ukraine. The Ambassador also stressed the need for continued international support for Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression.

In his speech Mr. Loiko shared personal memories about the protection by Ukrainian soldiers of Donetsk airport, the real history of cyborgs, as well as his experience as a war correspondent.

Participants had the opportunity to hear from the lips of the author excerpt from the book "Airport" and was actively interested in available evidence about the presence of Russian soldiers in the east of Ukraine and the prospects of completing military aggression and the restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
