On his way to Halifax International Security Forum, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mr. Vadym Prystaiko had a meaningful meeting with Assistant Deputy Minister for Europe, Middle East and Maghreb Ms. Alex Bugailiskis at Global Affairs Canada, in Ottawa on November 18.
The whole scope of Canadian technical assistance projects for Ukraine has been discussed, as well as prospects for further support.
On November 19, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mr. Vadym Prystaiko had a meeting with the Honourable Ralph Goodale, Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness.
New security threats, challenges of internally displaced people in Ukraine, Russian aggression in eastern Ukraine and its tragic impact on civilians has been discussed.
Minister reiterated firm position of Canadian government in ongoing support for Ukraine.
One of the key issues of agenda remains enhancement of bilateral trade and investment opportunities between two countries, especially in view of basic provisions of Canada-Ukraine Free Trade Agreement.
