Dear friends,
76 years ago the infamous Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact between the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany was signed. A communist (Stalinist) regime and its partner – Nazi regime introduced a new dividing line in Europe.
The pact between these two cruelest regimes paved the way to the beginning of the Second World War, to mass killings, tortures and suffering of millions of people.
Dignity, human rights and freedoms were brutally violated on the both sides of the dividing line.
Let us commemorate all those who lost their lives in the bloody turmoil, who were crushed by those powers.
Today, 76 years later, many nations are still fighting against tyranny and oppression. But we strongly believe that we can successfully fight those demons.
Ukraine is fighting with a regime which cannot agree with our European choice, with a regime which reanimates Stalinist ideology and practice not only in the domestic politics, but in the external relations too.
Memory makes us stronger.
The memory of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact and the horrors it brought to Europe prevent us from repeating the mistakes of the past.
And, I am sure of that, it will also help us to win today, as the Soviet and Nazi regimes were defeated.
We remember.
