Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine Valeriy Chaly has held a meeting with delegation of the Ukrainian World Congress headed by UWC Vice President, President of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress Pavlo Grod. The meeting was also attended by UWC Vice President Olena Koszarny.
Valeriy Chaly has expressed gratitude to foreign Ukrainians for their assistance and support in the international arena. He has particularly noted a series of events aimed at the mobilization of the international support for the liberation of Nadiya Savchenko.
The Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration has also noted the participation of the Ukrainian World Congress in the Program for Promoting the Interests of Ukraine in the World.
Pavlo Grod has informed on future plans of UWC and UCC on the enhancement of the international support of Ukraine and the intensification of their activity in various countries of the world.
Valeriy Chaly has thanked the Ukrainian community of Canada for implementing the humanitarian initiative “Defense of Patriots” together with the communities of Great Britain, USA, Poland, Australia and other countries. This initiative was discussed in September 2014 during the visit of the Ukrainian President to Canada. Due to the given initiative, over 12,000 Ukrainian militaries passed training on the provision of the first aid in combat environment and received over 9.500 first aid kits that meet the standards of NATO. Valery Chaly emphasizes that the given initiative is extremely important, for it saves lives of Ukrainian servicemen every day.
The parties have discussed the issue of countering Russian propaganda, particularly the production of high-quality Ukrainian English-language product in the international television environment. Valeriy Chaly has emphasized the importance of implementing the initiative of the Ukrainian President on the creation of pan-European Russian-language TV channel. “This initiative has already gained support among our partners in Europe. Now, it is necessary to harmonize our future coordination and implementation of this important project,” he said.
