Ukraine and Canada agreed to restore negotiations on the introduction of FTA between the two countries. This agreement has been achieved in the course of the meeting between President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and Prime Minister of Canada Stephen Harper.
“You will not find a greater friend in the world than Canada,” Stephen Harper said at the meeting.
Minister for International Trade Edward Fast noted that the 5th round of negotiations had already allowed forming significant part of the future agreement.
The most attractive spheres for bilateral cooperation are agriculture, agricultural engineering, energy and technologies.
Several Canadian government officials stated that they supported the actions of the Ukrainian government on combating corruption and expected the improvement of the investment climate in Ukraine in the future.
The Ukrainian President once again emphasized that “Ukraine made a historical decision yesterday having ratified the Association and DCFTA Agreement with the EU”. “Yesterday, Ukraine demonstrated to the whole world that there will be no return of the USSR,” the Head of State stressed.
