The head of state said in a message.
"On Sunday, I declare a day of mourning for our military. This is a great loss not only for the families, but also for the whole country. Ukraine mourns, but we resolutely continue the struggle for peace," Poroshenko said.
The President stressed that all those involved in the death of Ukrainian military will be punished.
"All those involved in the cynical act of large-scale terrorism must necessarily be punished. Ukraine needs peace. Terrorists, however, will receive an adequate response," the head of state said.
To remind, during the night from June 13 to June 14, in the area of Luhansk airport, the terrorists shot down the plane carrying paratroopers for rotation, as well as equipment and food. All 49 soldiers onboard the aircraft were killed.
In addition, on Saturday morning, as a result of shelling of the column of border guards near Mariupol, three soldiers were killed.
