Memorandum of Understanding on Youth mobility Agreement

On April 4, 2011, the Memorandum of Understanding on Youth mobility Agreement signed in the frames of the Canadian Prime Minister’s official visit to Ukraine on October 25, 2010, came into effect.

The regulations of Memorandum spread only on following categories of Ukrainians and Canadians:

— Citizens, including the graduates intent to obtain working experience in the hosting country provided by the job contract agreed beforehand with the purpose of their future career growth;

— Acting students in their native country intent to participate in working program by the means of job contract (production training) agreed beforehand and associated with their field of study;

— Citizens, intent to travel along hosting country and temporary obtain a job to earn some more money for living.

Citizens intent to enter and temporary live on the territory of Ukraine or Canada, according to the Memorandum should apply in person to the diplomatic institution only if they meet the necessary requirements, such as:

— Correspond to all the immigration requirements of both countries, Canada and Ukraine, including the obtaining of permission to enter the hosting country, not listed below;

— Aged 18-35 on the date of submission to the diplomatic or consular representative;

— Only with Canadian or Ukrainian citizenship, and have valid Canadian or Ukrainian passports with the expiration date exceeded the expected time of their staying in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding;

— The return ticket is needed before arrival to the hosting country as well as sufficient financial resources to buy such ticket;

— Sufficient financial resources are needed to maintain living on the very beginning of staying (around 2500 CAN);

— Pay the obligatory financial fees, necessary for gaining the benefits of this Memorandum of Understanding;

— Agree to buy the medical insurance package including the hospitalization and repatriation, valid within the term of staying;

— Have to provide in case of need:

a) Documents proving their job contract agreed beforehand in the hosting country with the purpose of their future career growth;

b) Documents proving their student status in their country and willing to participate in working program by the means of job contract (production training) agreed beforehand associated with their field of study;

c) Evidence of their intention to travel along the hosting country and temporary obtain a job to earn some more money for living.

In accordance with the signed agreements during the year 2012 200 persons of each country have the opportunity to gain benefits within the frames of Memorandum of Understanding on Youth mobility Agreement.
